Hey, I’m Kezia, the face behind Sew. Guernsey.

I moved over to this beautiful island in April 2021, kind of unexpectedly, and set up ‘Sew.Guernsey’ pretty much straight away and I’ve not looked back since.

But let’s go back to the start very quickly. I fell in love with sewing at school and went on to study costume construction at the Arts University Bournemouth. I graduated with a first class degree and moved into the real world, where I was dressing, cleaning, ironing, altering and making theatre costume for Birmingham Royal ballet, The Royal Opera House, Wicked, and most recently, Harry Potter and the Cursed Child. I loved the west-end world of theatre and the buzz that came with it but covid, furlough, redundancy and a whole new view on the work/life balance led me to make the move to Guernsey.

During the craziness of 2020 I began designing and making wedding dresses and accessories for my own bridal wear label The Boho Bride combining my love of bohemian style and modern fashion trends. I initially launched the company as an online business and have sent dresses and veils across the world to beautiful brides. But, now, I very much want its home to be in Guernsey, and hope to expand that side of my business alongside Sew for all the beautiful brides here in the Channel Islands.

Sew has been running as a fashion and bridal alterations business since the start but I plan to focus in on the bridal aspect and provide that high end, bespoke service that every bride deserves as part of her wedding dress journey, using my specialist skills, experience and love of all things bridal. Whether you have bought your dress off-island and it needs some tweaks (or major design changes!) or you want to discuss and design a completely bespoke bridal look for your wedding day, I’m your girl!
