When should I book my wedding dress alterations for?
As soon as you have your dress (and your wedding date!) get in touch and get booked in!! I generally advise your first fitting should be 8-10 weeks ahead of the wedding date so that we have time to get your alterations done but close enough to the date that you shouldn’t change shape too much before the big day!
But please get in touch to book the fittings in as soon as possible because during peak wedding season (spring- summer) I get booked up in advance.

Where will my fitting be?
At my studio. Originally I offered mobile fitting, but now I have a gorgeous studio space in a barn next to my home. It’s a creative, working, studio space hidden away in Castel (near to The Farmhouse Hotel). When you book in your appointment I will send over directions so that you can find me with ease.

Can I call you?
I’d much rather you pop me a WhatsApp message or an email, I will get back to you asap (usually within an hour or so). But I’m sure you’re with me on this one- you’d rather I didn’t pick up the phone mid fitting or mid stitch on a crucial part of your wedding dress.
It also really helps to have a full trail of our conversation to look back on rather than my memory. I promise Ill get back to you as soon as I can. (Just with a text or an email!)

How much will my wedding dress alterations cost?
Bridal alterations are charged at an hourly rate because every dress is so different and needs such varying amounts of work.
Fittings are charged at the same hously rate and this is added onto each invoice following your appointment. Three fittings are required for most brides and all three will be booked in when you first get in touch.
As a guide, bridal alterations generally cost between £450-£700 (including fitting time) but I can provide a more accurate estimate after your first fitting.

Do you do evening/ weekend fittings?
Evenings yes, weekends not so much.
These are generally my fitting slots:
Monday: between 330pm-630pm
Tuesday: 9am-12pm
Wednesday: between 330pm-730pm
Other times are available on request - but if it all possible it is most efficient for me to keep fittings within these blocks so that I can be as productive as possible!!
I can do Saturday morning fittings on request (subject to availability) if you absolutely cannot do any other time but there will be a small out of hours charge.

How many wedding dress fittings will I need?
Three is usually plenty, the first one is 8-10 weeks ahead of the wedding and the second and third spaced three weeks apart following this. However if it’s major design changes or a lot of alterations we might need more fittings to get it perfect.
When you first get in touch we can discuss what alterations you think might be needed and I will advise how early we should start.
-
Can you make my wedding dress from scratch?
YES! I would love to. I have my own bridal wear collection- The Boho Bride - take a look at that and see if anything catches your eye or send me your inspiration images. We can also arrange a consultation appointment to discuss ideas, fabrics styles etc.
-
Do you just do wedding dresses or can you take up my jeans?
I used to take on all general fashion alterations too but the brides took over! If any small windows of availability appear they will be posted on my social media, so keep an eye on there but otherwise my work is now 100% bridal and bridal party.
-
What should I have ready for my wedding dress fitting?
You must must must have your shoes! I really cannot pin a hem/ shoulders/ lift a waistline without your shoes because it will be inaccurate and the last thing we want is for your dress to end up too short or have to re alter!
Also underwear, your bra specifically should be the one that you plan to wear on the day to get the best fit.
-
Can you take up my curtains?
Unfortunatley not, I dont do any upholstery/ homeware or curtain alterations, mostly due to space but also its just not my thing, I’m all about the gorgeous dresses!!
